The short truth. GI JI is private by default. Your documents, questions, index, learning notes, and backups stay on your computer unless you approve the specific Connected AI request described below. We run no analytics inside the app and no GI JI account system.
What leaves your computer, and only when:
- Purchase & activation (Freemius). When you buy or activate, Freemius processes payment and license verification, including your name, email, purchase and transaction details, licence key, licence status, and a one-way device identifier. The seller can access customer and purchase records in Freemius; neither Freemius nor the seller receives your documents through this path.
- Connected AI (only if you turn it on). Setting up a session key contacts OpenAI to list the models available to that account; it sends no document, excerpt, question, or saved note. Every content-bearing request shows the exact packet and requires one-time approval. We never see this traffic; it is between your machine and OpenAI.
- Website imports (only when you request one). GI JI contacts the selected website, its robots instructions, and any redirects needed to fetch permitted pages. That website and its network providers receive ordinary request metadata such as your IP address, GI JI's user agent, and the requested URLs.
- Model downloads. Fetching local models (via your Ollama) contacts the model host to download files; no library content is sent.
- Support email. If you write to support@giji.agency we keep the correspondence.
What never leaves. Your library, chat history, Rulebook, Working Knowledge, backups, and API key are never transmitted to us. Backups exclude your API key and license secrets. The app binds to 127.0.0.1 only.
Website. giji.agency uses no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. Checkout happens on Freemius-hosted pages.
Your rights. For anything Freemius holds (purchase records), you may request access or deletion via us or Freemius. Data on your own computer is yours to delete directly — uninstalling GI JI removes it with the folder.
